Thanks for checking in! The start of 2009 has been a good one for Marshall.
In mid-February he was thrilled to give a talk about his run across America at the unveiling of Acqua Liana – the world’s largest certified “green” home in the world – for our friend Frank McKinney in Florida. Check out this beautiful home at http://www.frank-mckinney.com/acqua_liana.aspx. Thanks to Frank for having Marshall at the unveiling. Frank had this to say about Marshall’s talk:
Marshall,
You were simply amazing! Your presentation was riveting and spot-on for the times we are in. I am sorry I didn’t have time to see you off, but EVERYBODY love you being here.
On February 27th Marshall was pleased to see Running America race doctor, Dr. Paul Langevin, at the Rocky Mountain American College of Sports Medicine conference in Colorado Springs. Dr. Paul had invited Marshall to speak at the conference, and it was a nice opportunity to see him and his wife Jen and their kids, Thomas and Andre. Thanks to Theresa Daus-Weber and Anita Frome for attending, and thanks to the conference organizers for having Marshall speak at the RMACS conference.
It was especially nice to have Marshall’s son and daughter, Taylor and Ali, attend Marshall’s talk and to be able to spend time with them at a late (thanks for your patience, Taylor and Ali!) dinner. Taylor is thrilled with a new position at an independent cell phone service company, and Ali is busy with a (just over) full load at college and working. Oldest daughter Elaine is in Washington D.C. working as a science advisor to a congresswoman. Great kids, all!
At the end of March, Marshall will be speaking at the national convention for the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Marshall is honored to be speaking RRCA convention for many reasons, including the fact that his dear friend, Ted Corbitt who passed in December 2007, was a founding member of the club. Honoring the Past, especially Ted, while Looking to the Future will be the message of Marshall’s talk. Read about it at http://www.rrca.org/news/index.php?article=2404
